MxOE is the orchestration layer that sits across the N3rdz stack: selecting tools, routing models, applying safety gates, and keeping telemetry as state when research work spans more than one instrument or model family.
Why it exists
Farm instruments, edge inference, and research agents do not share one clean API. MxOE is built so those pieces can be composed without pretending the world is a single model call. The middle letter stays a lowercase x on purpose: Mix Of Everything, not a product acronym to shout in all caps.
Tool selection, circuit breakers, and human-in-the-loop gates so compound workflows fail closed when evidence is thin.
Runs carry labels and traces forward so the next step can see what was attempted, refused, or still open.
